Samba, February 17 (KNO) : A Consumer awareness programme was organised by Legal Metrology Department at Govt Higher Secondary School Jakh today.
AC Legal Metrology Ajay Kumar Verma informed the Students/Consumers about their rights and duties while making purchases from the market. They were also made aware about the ways to check the authenticity of weights and measures used by traders during business transactions.
They were also informed about Gas cylinder rules and importance of checking the retesting date on cooking gas cylinder as the cylinders are tested by the respective Oil Companies periodically for strength and durability of Cylinder. The Department also informed the gathering to check the mandatory declarations like Maximum Retail Price (MRP), Date of Packing(PKD), Complete address of the manufacturer/ Packer, Net weight of the Commodity, Name of the commodity and Customer care Number on the pre- packed commodities before purchasing these commodities.
Among others, Principal Deepak Gupta , Inspector LMD Mohsin Khateeb and staff members were present on the occasion.(KNO)
